The flag presentation ceremony included the fighters of the battalion
They were joined by the unit's commander, Lieutenant Colonel Yurii "Karl" Chekh, and the Commander of the First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine, Colonel Denys "Redis" Prokopenko.

"I am glad to see you all today. It is a big day for us. We have worked hard for three months. And now, we have our Battle Flag. It means that we, from this day, can write our own history — and we will write our own history in battle. I congratulate everybody who is present here," "Karl" said.

"Three years ago, Russian troops started a full-scale invasion. In our case, for you to know, this is a historic struggle, because the war in Ukraine started a long time ago. Considering the situation that happened in the world, today, Ukraine is the shield of Europe. And I am sure: one of the reasons why we are still standing and fighting together against evil — here it is. It is completely ridiculous to believe that Russia will stop. The enemy will move forward until they establish their dictatorship all over the world. I am glad to see you here today, and I am glad that in these hard times, you found yourselves in the International battalion of the 12th Special Forces Brigade Azov. Thank you for your work, guys. I am proud of all of you, and I am honored to serve with you. Glory to Ukraine and Glory to the International soldiers!" Redis stated.
